Siberian tigers also known as the Amur tigers are the largest sub-species of cats in the world found in south-eastern Russia and northern China. The conversation status of the Siberian tiger is an Endangered Species. Endangered Species-a native species or subspecies that is in serious danger of becoming extinct throughtout all, or a significent portion of its range as a result of one or more causes. The Siberian tigers were endangered species since the 1940's.
The map below provides information on where the species used to live and where they live now.

The Siberian tigers habitat is in Russia in the woodlands. The Siberian tiger habits are occupying very large territory, also predation because it is a predator, male is solitary and female live in family units. It has been recorded that more than 4,000 square miles for one Siberian tiger alone. Like most animals and humans it requires water and oxygen to survive. The foods it needs is meat. Their daily diet is 20 pounds of meat. The species necessary for the survival of the Siberian tiger: a wild boar, red deer, moose, roe deer, sika deer, musk deer, and goral. Even dangerous animals like adult brown bears and black bears. The social behaviour of both males and female Siberian tigers are marking their boundaries of their ranges with urine and by scratching trees.
The Amazing White Coat Trasformation!!!
The Siberian tiger is well adapted to the woodlands in Russia because they has thick fur, a layer of fat
and longer arms and legs, for the long walks in search for food. The defences that the Siberian tiger has are knife-edged teeth, strong jaw and razor sharp claws. The physical characteristic of the Siberian tiger is that its orange coat lightens during winter helping it to camouflage and it has six times better night vision when compared to humans.

In the 1940's the species were in danger because of poaching, the Chinese using their body parts for medicine construction of roads, forest fires, and inadequate law enforcement. Amur tiger were almost extinct, with no more than 40 tigers remaining in the wild. Thanks to vigorous anti-poaching and other conservation efforts by the Russians with support from many partners, including WWF, the Amur tiger population recovered. Also in early years, the local Siberian tigers were almost wiped out by the Russian Civil War.
The Siberian tiger has a major role in the ecosystem. If the Siberian tiger was to suddenly disappear the enviroment around will be hugely impacted. The animals the Siberian tiger eats will grow in an uncountable number. For example, the deer is one of the Siberian tiger's preys. The deer will grow in an huge amount and the plants that they eat would be extinct because there are too many of the same species feeding on the one type of plant.
WWF staff member Pavel Fomenko has helped catch up to 2,000 poachers in a single year protecing the Siberian tigers. Some people don't realise how important is to keep animals still roaming on this planet and also some people don't mind species die out that is why most people just sit read about the dieing out species and don't take action at all. People can help by donating to the WWF who are raising emergency funds for anti-poaching patrols, don't buy products containing tiger parts and buy forest-friendly products. People from any where can donate to help the species. Even if you give a small amount it could make a big difference. I can make a difference by starting mini funds raising stalls in the neighbourhood then once I collect all the money i would give to the WWF. This act can help the survival of the Siberian tigers making them still roaming in the future.
